New Bath

New Bath

The structure, constructed in 1875, consists of warm, hot and furnace sections. The changing room section is accessed through a labyrinth like entrance from the west. This part, covered with a very high dome, was converted into two storeys later. Warm section has rectangular plan and covered with two small domes. The hot section, just north of the warm section, has square plan and single dome. Four rooms covered with smaller domes on corners are used as bathing places. There is an octagon navel stone at the middle section, and there are four small iwans having basins (kurna) at sides. The Turkish Bath, reflecting the aesthetic architectural tissue and culture of Turkish Bath, welcomes its visitors today like in the history and draws a considerable attraction.
